Mother and Child: MFF 2010 Closing Night Film

Last night at the FOF Programming Preview we unveiled most of our selection including our closing night film, Rodrigo Garcia’s “Mother and Child.” Check out Mike Sragow’s blog profiling the film!

MOTHER AND CHILD from director Rodrigo Garcia

Monday screenings capped with the newest film from writer/director Rodrigo Garcia, MOTHER AND CHILD, a wily and beautifully crafted film about adult relationships that was already praised at last year’s Toronto Film Festival and will be distributed by Sony Pictures Classic. This is grown-up filmmaking at its best.  The Maryland Filmmakers Fellowship (administered by MFF) supported Rodrigo’s first script, THINGS YOU CAN TELL JUST BY LOOKING AT HER, which he brought to Baltimore directly from the  Cannes Film Festival. He also spent time during that trip with students at the School for the Arts.  -Jed
