John Carpenter’s THEY LIVE plays July 18th at the Charles Theater!

Gunky’s Basement, the Maryland Film Festival series curated and hosted by Dan Deacon + Jimmy Joe Roche, returns to The Charles next month with John Carpenter‘s 1988 sci-fi/horror classic, THEY LIVE!

As always with Gunky’s, the film will screen from a 35mm print for just $5 general admission (but FREE for Friends of the Festival!), with an introduction by Dan and Jimmy and an original poster created for this screening by a Baltimore artist.

Film Synopsis
A drifter named “Nada” (Roddy Piper) discovers a pair of sunglasses that reveal that the ruling class within the moneyed elite are in fact aliens managing human social affairs through subliminal messages in mass media.
