Internationally recognized animator, designer, and multi-media artist, Miwa Matreyek

Miwa Matreyek is an internationally recognized animator, designer, and multi-media artist based in Los Angeles.

Miwa will conduct a Master Class at the Johns Hopkins Digital Media Center  March 12, 13, 14 and will perform her work at Baltimore Theatre Project March 16-18.

Master Class description:
In this master class, we will explore ways that media transforms as it is incorporated into installation and performance, and vice versa. Students will experiment with digital content (video, animation, images) by projecting them on to space, body, objects, textures, etc as we explore different approaches to tell a story or create a theatrical/cinematic moment. The class will comprise of an intro, lab time, and “quick and dirty” projects that will be critiqued and discussed as a class at the end of the session.

Monday, March 12 – 6 – 8 pm
Introductory session.

Tuesday, March 13 – 6 – 9 pm
Lab time for the students to create work.

Wednesday, March 14 – 6 – 9 pm
Presentation and critique.

This FREE 3 day Master Class has open slots for up to (but no more than) eight people in collaboration with the Digital Media Center at Johns Hopkins University.
