Charlie Chaplin Retrospective at The Charles Theater begins this Saturday

A year-long retrospective of Charlie Chaplin’s films begins Saturday 2/11 as part of the Charles Theatre’s Revival Series.

Janus Films has produced seventeen new 35mm prints spanning the years 1918-1958. The Revival Series will show one Chaplin program each month through January 2013.

Each film will be presented with a musical soundtrack. Kids Welcome.

••••••••••A DOG’S LIFE (1918) Thanks to a dog he finds, Charlie ends up in possession of some stolen loot. But the wrongdoers want their ill-gotten gains back. 33m.

•••••••SHOULDER ARMS (1918) Enlisted during the First World War, Charlie discovers the hard life of the trenches and the dangers of combat. 37m.

••••••••SUNNYSIDE (1919) Charlie is a farm laborer who’ll try anything to win over his pretty neighbor, but ends up spending a lot of time in dreamland. 30m.
