Doug Sadler, MFF alum, and winner of the Maryland Filmmakers Fellowship (2002), is with Ricki Lake, who is doing a project on obesity. Doug and I walked down Main Street afterwards and struggled through the crowd of filmmakers at the NYC Film Office party. I had been by the fun Pennsylvania Film gathering earlier in the week. It’s amazing that in the midst of this rough economy Maryland is passing on one of the quickest job-creating programs around. -Jed
